Paradise wildlife control tip of the month:
Opossum Prevention Tips: How to Keep Opossums Away
How to keep opossums away? As delightful as they might seem opossums are still scavengers and they like to visit
human settlements a lot. Garbage cans, dumpsters and other containers attract them like moth to a flame. Remember
these are animals, driven by their instinct and they really mean no harm. That is the reason; there is absolutely
no need for anger or rage, while Paradise animal trapping problems with opossums can be solved in a completely peaceful manner.
Fences and home repairs: Opossum is a very well adapted animal and will be looking for a place with water, food and
shelter. A lot of times place like that are in direct vicinity of the house or what they prefer under the house, a deck
or patio. Opossum will find the smallest opening under or in your house and use it as its den. Therefore, the first Paradise wildlife removal advice
would be, you need to do everything that is in your power to keep them out in the first place. Put up some fences, L-footer
style is a very good solution. However, you need to observe for some time that there are no opossums or other animals trapped
on the other side of the fence. Trapped animals are certainly not your intention or Paradise pest control solution. Another thing you should do to
keep the little nuisances away is to look up and fill in all of holes or openings in your house. Again, while doing that first
of all, if you find the opening, you need to make sure there is no opossum inside. You really don` t want to bury the poor
creature alive. Opossums being the nocturnal animals, they usually come out of their dens at night. Fill up the opening in your
deck, building or patio with straw, leaves and soil and give a couple of hours or nights. If the filling stays untouched, then
you can shut the hole, otherwise you need to wait for the animal to come out and then shut the opening. Good climbers as they are
can also find a way to your roof or attic. If that is the Paradise animal control case, you need to use a barrier to prevent climbing and blocking the
access to its den. Sometimes some kind of pole is used for climbing, build this pole as slippery as it gets. Also make sure no
branches are in the vicinity of the house.
Natural remedies: There are numerous Paradise exterminator ways how to keep the opossum away without
harming it. One of the solutions is also some natural remedies like loud sound, various spicy mixtures and smell of other
animals, especially predators. You need to remember, this is a really gentle and placid animal, it just wishes to be left
alone and going its own way.
